How to Store Bread
Bread is an essential part of most of the meal all over the world. So that most of the housewives prefer preparing their bread at home or buying it in large amounts to be available for more than 3 days. Following are important tips for helping you in preparing bread and storing it for along period without having it spoiled quickly.
• Most of the people prefer leaving the starter for several weeks for increasing the sour taste of the bread. It is not recommended to do that because this affects the taste of bread badly. It is proved that weak starter also is not good because it can not make the dough rise and disable the dough to fight off the bad taste. So that sour tasting starter is not always a component of good tasting bread and it is better to give the starter a regular feeding from 8-12 hours.
• For cleaning the dough, avoid using plastic scour pads because the dough catches in the holes and it never come clean a gain. It is better to strain in cold water for a while, and then clean it using warm but not hot water in order not to make it sticky.
• If you baked bread for more than 3 days, leave it for about half an hour in the room temperature and then keep it in plastic bag and put in the freezer.
• For using it in the next day, remove from the freezer and leave for few hours in the room temperature and then heat it.
• If you have bread for one day and you want to keep it fresh, keep it in paper bags and leave in the room temperature.
• Avoid keeping the bread that you would use today in a plastic bag because the crust becomes spongy and it spoils quickly.
• For making use of the leftover bread of yesterday, you can use it fore preparing toast or croutons.
• Avoid keeping large amounts of bread in the refrigerator because it spoils quickly in such cool temperature
